1947 Demitrios Comino develops the first steel racking system made of industrially produced, slotted strips 1956 Founding of the Dexion trading organisation in Frankfurt am Main 1957 First production of steel shelves in Kilianstädten near Hanau 1959 Founding of the first Dexion sales office in Germany 1962 Production at the new plant in Laubach 1968 Dexion has branches in six countries and trading partners in 90 countries 1970 Laubach becomes the company Head Office when the administration relocates 1975 Takeover of the Dexion Group by the American steel corporation Interlake 1997 Sale of the Dexion Group to the British investment company Apax Partners & Co. 1999 Apax Partners & Co. and Aker RGI ASA merge the warehouse technologies and material handling units of their corporate divisions to form the Dexion Group Ltd. (Apax) and Constructor AS (Aker) 2000 Takeover of the Dexion Group by the Norwegian industrial investment company Aker RGI 2005 Investment in new machinery: €2.9m 2006 Production start-up for the new “I-beam” supporting element, turnover reaches almost €60m for the first time 2007 Dexion generates a turnover of €70m and as part of the Aker Material Handling group of companies, is sold to the Swedish finance investor Altor Equity Partners.
